Hi I have two great little ultraportables that I like but I find them almost unuseable with their low resolution. Was wondering it's possible to swap the screen from a FHD thinkpad yoga 12.5 or Dell XPS 12 to an x220 or hp elitebook 2560p. I prefer the feel and keyboard of these two portables. I need the 16gb ram from the x220 or hp 2560p and the higher resolution.

That would be an enormous feat. You're better off waiting for a machine that suits your wants, or settle with one machine over the other.
