I reinstalled vista. Then went to the lenovo drivers and updates website to install as many drivers as I could. Problem is, many buttons still dont work...ie. the thinkvantage or the volume buttons on the top of the keyboard...
I would regret reinstalling if I wiped out alot of the previous system features...though things are admittedly much faster now...please help. Thanks.

I'm not sure why the volume buttons are not working, but if you did a clean install of Vista, the ThinkVantage button will not work. Another option would be to recover the drive and just uninstall the stuff you don't want.

Reinstalling the thinkpad HOTKEY manager fixes this. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...cid=MIGR-67047

Now, did you read the instructions for installing the drivers on lenovo's site? I just re-installed vista today, and had to read the instructions to figure out why stuff wasn't working...
Turns out the install file you download just like unzips files into your C:/DRIVERS folder. Then in each sub folder, there's another setup.exe file you need to run... -
installe hotkey driver properly and still the volume and htinkvantage buttons don't work...

Since you have the same thread here, I'm closing this thread.
