    hi everyone...
i did a downgrade from the factory vista to xp...
and i can not get the video card driver working..
i tried 2 versions and they all crashed during install..(blank screen)
so i am wondering if i order a factory recovery disk from lenovo and try to get it back to the factory form will it work??
the ones on my harddrive seems to be damaged. i did restore to factory two times before i downgrade to xp and it did not work ....
so please guys, let me know if my harddrive can go back to factory form by ordering the disks before i order the disk from lenovo, because it cost like 50 bucks.
    thanks all..

its a t61 and the gpu is 140m
i did get the driver to work last night...and everything seems good last night, and the screen came back on..
but this morning it is gone again..when i connect to external monitors it can not get into windows and have the blue screen and it says this in the following:
a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage of the computer. The problem seems to be caused by the following file: nv4_disp
    technical information:
    stop: 0x000000EA (0x8929A840, 0x896E2160, 0XBACF7CBC, 0x00000001)

thats what it mostly said in the blue page, and it reboot.
i can get into safe mode though..
i do not know if it is the driver conflict between the harwares, or maybe the video card is broking.
because i downgraded to xp...so i don't know that's why it cause the problem between the harwares, or maybe it is just the video card is broken.

You still haven't made you requirements clear. Does the machine have to be operated from one system across video sytems? If your anwser is no,good.
If your answer is yes there is no driver out there that will do this. For different cases, the anser is different.

do you have bad sectors on your HDD ?

the XP video driver for the 140m is on the lenovos site, works awesome. Even overclocks the gpu big time :D
