    can i install it on any laptop apart from a thinkpad??will this help in increasing battery life on another laptop??thanks..

    so it's because of the drivers....does the power management software allow you to underclock your cpu?

    If you want to underclock your CPU, try using RMClock or a similar utility. But you might have problems doing it, since that fancy MBP of yours boots from EFI and not BIOS.

    yeah, did you see cpu genie? it auto matically underclocks the cpu.... also can i use thinkvantage's power saving feature on my mac?(not bios altering features...)

    No, Thinkvantage apps are tied to the hardware and bios. I don't believe they will install on non-thinkpads. IF it does, the functionality that you are seeking will not work.
