I am using my samsung tab 2 and whenever I plug it in to my x61t it tells me to plug it into a usb 2.0 port and it will work faster.

read somewhere that its a faulty chipset but since search doesnt work I was hoping someone knew if this was true or if windows 7 is the colprit

What happens when you plug another known USB 2.0 device into that same port? Do you have the appropriate drivers for the Samsung Tab 2 loaded into the X61T?

Make sure the USB plug is securely inserted. Sometimes, if not all the pins have good contact, you do get this message.

if i plug my external hd in it reads it and puts in onto the usb 2.0 controller, but when I plug in my tab 2 it puts it on the usb 1.1 controller. how do I force it to read from the usb 2.0 controller?

all ports are usb 2.0 and work that way when I plug any other device that is 2.0 into them except for the tab
