Is there a better laptop keyboard? I think not. I have the modular battery and the nine cell. Mine goes between 6-7 hours for normal usage. Don't forget to post your thoughts after you've taken her around the block a few times.

awesome, my t43 just got here. gotta love typing from bed
i never realized how much the second tracking device would help. i pretty much only use the little red thing, i love it.
the fingerprint scanner is what everyone in my family loves, although my dad wants a retina scanner haha. :buyIBM:

a retina scanner...that would be neat. The red poiting stick looks really interesting, is it more ergonomic than the touchpad?

i find it alot easier to use than the little pad.
it seems alot more accurate and you dont have to keep picking up your finger like when you get to the end of the pad.
ibm ships it with 3 different sized heads too so you can pick what is the most comfy to you.
BTW, the keyboard is all its cracked out to be

I really want to try the keyboard - I saw a used thinkpad for sale at a store (it was an older model) and it was very solid, but I didn't getg a chance to play around with it.

I personally prefer the pointing stick to the touchpad. But then again, that may be because the touchpad on the T42 is small, and not a particularly good one. As for the keyboard, yes, it does feel superior to nearly every other brands', mainly because the keys on the others' seem to have a more squishy feel.
