    trackpoint + scrolling problem in Word

    Does anyone ever have trouble scrolling through a document (particularily upward) in Microsoft Word using the trackpoint and the middle mouse button (the middle one in the set for the trackpoint)?
    I do.
    It kind of jerks the screen as though it will scroll up, but never moves. If I apply a lot of pressure on the trackpoint, then it sometimes will scroll up and work properly, but most of the time it doesn't, and the pressure applied is far too much.
    I'm using Word 2003.

    Any thoughts/similar experiences?

    Do you happen to have "Press to Select" enabled in the UltraNav section of the mouse settings in the control panel? If so, try disabling it and see if it helps.

    Good point, but no, it was not enabled.
    Thanks anyway.

    I should probably note that this problem occurs not all the time, but rather about half of the time.

    No suggestions, but I have had the same problem for the past year with a T41.

    Yeah, I've seen sluggish scrolling on this X21 with Opera. I don't scroll much in other apps, though...
