hi, i've just bought my thinkpad edge 13 and i've installed ubuntu on it (so i've a dual boot ubuntu/7)
i've installed gpointer-device-settings to configure the trackpoint and configured it to have my middle trackpoint mouse behaving like a middle mouse if i press it for a short time, and like the UltraNav standard scrolling if i hold it longer
i like this behaviour and i was wondering if there's some software for windows that lets me configure the middle mouse to do this
ps: i don't like the UltraNav "smooth" scrolling

If you download the lenovo ultranav drivers, theres a setting for press-to-select, but I believe you can only set it as left or right click, I don't think theres an option for middle click. I'm not positive however.

well, i can't find the option "press-to-select"
i mean, i can't find anything that could be translated "press-to-select" as my system language is italian
here is my ultranav settings screen:
i think it's the same for every language, maybe you can tell me what's the option by comparing my screenshot with your settings window? -
Need third party software to do it. There's two threads w/programs on the forum about it, one was written using the actual API from synaptics I think and the other I wrote using Autohotkey

oh, thank you.. it hadn't occurred to me that i could use autohotkey
this script did the trick http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo-ibm/423415-ultranav-middle-click-button-scroll.html
