    Hi,

    I have 2 thinkpads. R61 has a penryn T8100 and T61 has
T7300 so i decided to swap each other.

after one week, i did everything. first time, penryn did not
work on T61 because 'thermal sensing error' massage showed
up as soon as i turned on. it was so scared.

next time i updated bios of T61 to 2.10 from 2.09 and tried
    again. still same massage came.

Interesting thing is the bios version of R61 was 2.12 which
never released on lenovo.com. I was googling but
    there's nowhere. too.

Someone said chipset for T7XXX series did not work
    for newer cpu.

Another thing is that dell uploaded new bios for their laptops.
it was said that new bios was supporting new processors
    like penryn.

I have give up to upgrade cpu? what do you think?

I just upgraded my R61i from a T5259 to a T7300 and I was considering getting the T8100 OR T8300. After I read this I am glad I got the T7300. Based on the research I did the motherboard was the same for the T7*** and the T8***, this indicates to me that the BIOS must be the issue.
