    Hello,
I am wondering if there is a way to turn off the lights for Bluetooth/HDD/WWAN etc from my Thinkpad X60?

HDD/Bluetooth are annoying are they always flash. I have a X60.

    Cheers

There is no function key for it on your keyboard, so you probably have to open up your laptop and physically disconnect it from the motherboard. If you are under warranty, that would be a very bad idea.

Try some electrical tape, or scotch tape if you just want to dim them a bit. Sticky tack would work well if you want to have them blocked and a little less noticeable.

Unfortunately you can't do the same thing that Gateways do (they have a shortcut key that turns off all LEDs).

There is no problem to open the notebook base (not sure about screen thought). But, there is no simple way to disconnect these wires for lights. All wires are in one cable and connected to micro connectors..

Several of these lights are controlled by memory addresses. The Wireless, Bluetooth, Caps Lock, and Numlock should all be manipulable. The Battery, AC, Sleep, and Z might be controlled by lower level hardware and may not be able to be changed by software.

Some adventurous programmer might be able to make a program to turn these on and off. Unfortunately I don't know how to do this:
