    Hello everyone,
I am first in to this discussion.
I have a very reliable Thinkpad T30 for wich I was given 2 ultrabay batteries, quite new, and they show the right voltage
I cannot get my T30 to see (or detect) the ultrabay battery, let alone that it will charge it, and of course it will not act as a battery.
can anyone tell me what to do or where I can find how to get this working.
Thank you very much for your help.

thank you very much for your reply.
yes, the optical drive dvd/cd-rw works perfect
in the meantime i have been told that there is a smapi or whatever that has something to do with the bios?
i was hoping i would just need a driver or something to get the ultrabay to work. when I connect the ultrabay battery to the original battery connection, with notebook on its side and battery at rectangular angle the notebook starts up fine and works, so I think ultrabay connection is the problem. I can clearly see the connector and feel the battery slide in.
