    update BIOS for T400!

    Can I update my Bios through Thinkvantage System Update normally? do there any problem? :confused:

    it would probably be safer to do it by burning and ISO.

    and you are on win7 correct? even more of a reason to use the ISO.

    oh! as you say, System update is not safe for update BIOS automatically? and should not using it?

    I don't know how to update through burning an ISO!! sad!

    reason i say that is because sometimes the update doesnt go through right while you are still in the OS, this is a very small percentage though.

    the risk might be higher because you are on windows 7 and the BIOS update utility/thinkvantage weren't really meant to run on windows 7, at least not yet.

    as for the ISO, just download it and burn it to a cd with an ISO burning program such as imgburn (which is free, google it.) or the roxio application that comes with the laptop, once its burned restart your computer and run the disk. (just start the laptop up with the cd and itll ask you to press enter to start it up).

    or just download it off lenovo website as the discrete file. run that only instead of let thinkvantage run through a list of upgrades

    I updated my BIOS through Thinkvantage and it was fine. Try not to be running any other applications while it's updating. You don't want it to freeze on you and mess up your system.

    yea what happens then.?

    You cant even do factory reinstall either
