I have a problem with my new T40. I recently just bought a T40 that had no operating software. I loaded xp using a fat32 file system (i don't know if you'll need to know this). The install worked great until i tried to play sound. There was no sound. I fixed this problem by installing drivers from the ibm/lenovo site. My new problem is that when i try to put my laptop in sleep/hibernate/standby mode it does not exist. Also some of the FN (function keys) do not work either. Should i fix this problem by udating the bios? Will this fix my problem. I am a novice when it comes to computer programmingPlease help. Oh yeah other wise my thinkpad runs fast as all hell

You need to install the other driver/utilities to get everything working.
