I just got an IdeaPad Y730 and was checking Lenovo's site for driver updates but there aren't any yet. Does everyone typically wait for Lenovo to update the drivers on their support site or use the drivers from the various product manufacturers. For example, Intel has drivers for the WiFi Link 5100 dated 10/8/2008. Is it safe to update with the Intel drivers or should you wait for Lenovo?

For the network card, yes it's safe.

There are a few components that I don't use Lenovo's drivers because they're a bit outdated. For example, Intel chipset/SATA and video card, I use newer ones from the manufacturers instead.
