No. As far as I know you can't upgrade shipping service often an item has been shipped. However, phone Ups, see what options there are (like weekend delivery, etc). It should take 1 week in my experience.

It's unlikely that you can upgrade it.

Ground from North Carolina to Virginia should only be one or two days.

The problem you are going to have is that the 27th is Thanksgiving, the 28th is a floating holiday for most companies, and the 29th is a Saturday. So you might not get it until the 30th or 31st.

I would recommend that you call UPS and see if you can work out some kind of holiday/weekend delivery, because that will be your hold up, rather than the ground transit.

Estimated shipping date is not guaranteed. However, with some luck it will ship before the estimated date. That's what happend when I bought mine.

i called lenovo yesterday. they will look into it and try to ship before the date. they informed me that it is going through some testing :)confused: ) and they dont have any other shipping options other than the standard shipping.

guess i should get it picked up by someone and hold it for me. no thinkpad for a month :(

Don't bother upgrading shipping. It should take 2-3 days without an upgrade.

I ordered my T400 on Sunday 11/16. The initial ship date provided me was 11/27. I just received an email notice now at 08:00 on 11/21 that my order has shipped. I selected the 2 business day delivery option (US$10). This order turnaround time is rather good, yes?

I ordered from the Lenovo site on Sunday, 11/16/08 (sorry, what's the depot?) Do trains stop there? hahaha. Anyway, I went directly to Lenovo, utilized the coupons, got a good price I think ($1,350 pre-tax). See signature below - also with 3 yr Onsite Warranty. I elected 2 busns days delivery (a no brainer at $10), made no changes and voila!
