I want to get a 15" T60 for the flexview. But 1600 x 1200 is insanely small for 15" screen. Seems to be only offering from Lenovo. Could I set the monitor to something like 1280 x 1024 or something? Or will stuff be blurry and such. Is 1600 the only resolution you can really use on the display?

on lcds, if you set them to any other resolution besides their native one it will look blurry/soft. there are ways, however, to increase the size of fonts and icons without changing the native resolution. if this is a big issue for you i would look into other notebooks. sony's offer native resolution of 1200 x 800 on all their notebooks i think.

This has got to change... on the employee site you can get 1400x1050 on T60 both 14" and 15".
Or if you cant wait, look for a good deal on a leftover T43 with 1400x1050, even in flexview. There's good deals out there which will costs you several hundred $$ less -
800x600 will be perfect on 1600x1200, you just end up with 4(square):1 pixel scaling. Fonts are probably the best way to go. Also, if you resize and use TrueType fonts (tune the TrueType), I don't really notice any problems with an non power of 2 scalings. I use my T60 (14") in native 1400x1050 (comparable to 15" @ 1600x1200) and love it, but I'm not to the reading glasses age (40 it seems).
using non-native resolution
