for those of you who bought laptops from Lenovo before, do they include a reinstallation disk for windows? From my past experience, it was a yes for dell and no for hp.

    much appreciated~

Someone told me on a thread i started yesterday about doing a clean install with vista that lenovo does not provide vista reinstall discs with their computers....
I quote millermagic from this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=288548
"I really don't like that that there is no install media included. I tried a few different times to get an install CD from Lenovo but that didn't work"

ive heard the same from other people around as well...

No, they include the recovery partition instead. You create your own recovery discs from that partition.

So if you want to reinstall Vista to its factory state, you can do so via the recovery partition or your created recovery discs.

You can create recovery disks that accomplish what you need as soon as you open up your new system.

That partition creates a recovery disc with all the bloatware included on it correct?

Only if you want it to. For ThinkPads, you have the option to restore it using a 'custom install' feature. What this feature does is present you with a list of the bloatware (including ThinkVantage applications) with a checkbox next to each program, and you decide which program you want preinstalled.
