I was looking at a w500 laptop and i noticed this in the description:
    15.0" WSXGA+ (1680 X 1050) TFT, Flexview Display w/ Wide Viewing Angle

i thought w500 just have regular displays, not flexview, or was I wrong the whole time, and lenovo does indeed offer the w500 with flexviews?

15.0"? I'm quite sure it's just all incorrect.

I don't think it's offered, unless it's something new. Where did you see that description? If it's on eBay, it's likely false advertising.

    No.

The mismatched (15" can't be WSXGA+) description that you got from Lenovo's outlet, which is full of all sort of mistakes, has been posted numerous of times already, so nothing new, it's a typo.

Now I will this ones and for all, you will NEVER (I hardly use that word) see IPS (what you call Flexview) panels in notebooks again, it's neither profitable for the manufacturers nor there is a consumer demand for that although forums like this may create a false impression that there is. The IPS technology is virtually dead for the notebook industry. Period.

For those who haven't followed this topic, Lenovo recently said that if someone is willing to order over 15,000 ThinkPads with IPS panels from them, they may consider offering that option again.

They do have FlexView like panels in some tablets.

I just got word from Andy, one of our Admins, who recently spoke with Lenovo about this very issue. Lenovo said there is no chance of a IPS screen showing up in a ThinkPad for the foreseeable futures. It's why I plan to hang onto mine for as long as I can.
