I'm interested in the W510, but not interested in the waiting period to receive it from Lenovo. Anyone have any experience purchasing them from Ebay? At first glance it looks like there are sellers who have strong positive feedback and everything seems legit....

It's not really price.. and it's not that I have to have it NOW... but waiting 8 weeks for something to be delivered is ridiculous when you consider how quickly technology and prices change.

I'd normally pretty leery to, but I have yet to be burned by ebay after a decade or so of transactions. You just need to be smart about it. I've purchased two systems in the past on ebay without too much trouble....

There are trusted resellers there with rock-solid feedback.

I might be selling mine (just got it yesterday). Unfortunately pro cards are not optimized for gaming, and for me some occasional gaming is a must. Tried King's Bounty TAP and the performance is clearly much worse than on the M17X. So, I'll probably start saving for another alien.
I'll PM you. -

I have.
I bought my T61p with warranty in a sealed box. It was great and the seller stuck by it. It was a great purchase when Lenovo wanted about three months for delivery.

Purchased mine new on ebay and VERY happy. Saved $150 outright, plus have 8Gb ram total for another $100 and have Win7 Ultimate64. $1550 to my door.

like chupacabras said you just have to be really smart when buying anything off of eBay, especially when its something as expensive as a laptop. check, double check and check again the sellers feedback, credibility.
Ask the seller as many questions as you'd like and clear all your doubts before pulling the trigger.
If you decide to go with eBay make sure you sign up for the Bing cash back.
I just bought my T410 off of eBay a couple of weeks ago and got a $100 cash back. Plus the purchase is tax free.
The only downside with buying of eBay is that you don't have the option of customizing your system. -
I might say lucky would be a better word. It's almost a leap of faith at some point as you can't verify anything until you get it. I've had good and bad transactions on eBay. I always have gotten my money back on the bad ones, but it's a pain in the rear to deal with it.

Lol, if you fall on a good coupon you might save even more.
Can't disagree. You have to do some very good homework to avoid most of the traps. Means time. Means Money. Means - screw it!
