So I just got my thinkpad w520, and I was wondering which of the pre installed lenovo software is actually useful? If any at all.

Power Manager and the UltraNav drivers are nice.

Most of the enterprise stuff you can nuke if you don't need them.

Other stuff, just Google, see if it fits your needs.

Definite keeper is the Power Management driver.

I like Access Connections, it's good if you have lots of settings (IP, default printer, etc.) that you like to change between access points.

As the col. mentioned Power Manager +PM Driver is a keeper, as is the ultra nav/track point drivers. You'll want to keep the communications utility and the hotkey drivers.. I suggest you stick to lenovo graphics and wireless drivers, for increased compatibility.

System Update is good to have.

I get rid of Toolbox, Rescue & Recovery, Client Security Solution, and anything else.

Hotkey drivers are very important too. :D

I got rid of Toolbox, CSS, FPR, but kept R&R.

The only Lenovo software I kept are Power Manager (+ Power Management Driver), UltraNav, Communications Utility (Fn + F6), and System Update.

    System Update
    Power Manager
    ThinkVantage ToolBox
    Rapid Boost

I used to have Active Protection installed, but deleted since I upgraded to SSD.

The only bloatware you should hands-down delete is the norton anti-virus.

Or just not install it when it asks you? The installer just sits there otherwise.
