    Hi,

My new w530 notebook disconnects USB 3 devices after some time (around 10 minutes; data transfer should be active to reproduce the disconnection) when transfering data to an external USB 3 drive. Is anyone expiencing the same problem?

I already tried reboot, re-installtion of drivers, and even an USB 3 express card. All with the same problem.

It seems as if this problem occurs with different USB 3 controllers: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1558885

    Regards,

    - DeLock 61757 USB 3 to SATA
    - DeLock eSATAp + USB 2 + USB 3 (don't have product code here)

Both devices work fine on various notebooks but fail on the w530.

Do the other notebooks have the new Intel Ivy Bridge USB 3 chipset or last years Sandy Bridge Renesas/NEC chipset?

No, I am using an USB 3 express card on these notebooks (the express card has a NEC chip).

Maybe have a check at the Power Manager settings to make sure it's not suspending the USB ports for some reason? Look at the Advanced Settings and disable it at the USB section to see if it improve things.

i just checked System Update again on my new w530 and it seems the Intel eXtensible host controller driver didn't update last time. i tried again and it said it failed to install, "click here to install manually", which fired up the setup wizard.
