i had purchased a T400. was happy with it until the LCD had issues. They repaired it but not to my satisfaction so I returned it. Now its been almost a week since I've returned the product and Lenovo says its still in the quality check phase. They had assured me that the product would undergo a quality check within 24hrs and i'll get the refund in 7 business days. Now its been about a week since they've received it and its still undergoing "quality check"!

At first they said 24 hours, after receiving the machine it was 24 to 48 hours, later they kept on telling me "quality check is a routine procedure. no need to worry you'll get the refund in a couple of days". Its been a week lenovo!!

What the heck am I supposed to do? I'm without a laptop and waiting for them to send me the refund so I can initiate a new purchase!

hey. i understand your frustration. a week or so seems like an eternity when it's a bunch of your money on the line. especially when you are waiting to purchase another laptop! don't worry until they are like 2-3 days late. lenovo is not the best at updating their status... remember when you were waiting for the thing? in process and shipped. that's it. it may take a day or two after they have sent the money for it to show up on your credit card/bank account as well.

When I returned a Dell notebook it took about a month to get my refund. Seven days seems pretty reasonable.

ZaZ, man come on...you're scaring the **** out of me :(

sam-i-am-not, hmph...i've already lost too many days. Actually around 2 months to this whole fiasco. Lenovo can give me my money back. But can they give me my time back?? Hmm??? Whose gonna reimburse that?

000111, they've told me it'll take another 8 business days for it to show up on my bank account AFTER they've posted it to my account.

AznRacerNSX, yes I understand 7 business days is one calendar week + 2 days. But those 7 business days were the time which it will take the money to show up in my account AFTER they've posted it to my account. Their initial promise was to post the money after 24 hours of receiving the machine and its been almost A WEEK SINCE THEY'VE GOTTEN THE MACHINE.

I'll say it again, watch the potty mouth and show some maturity. I know you can do it. I don't care if you're self-censoring yourself or not. It's not acceptable behavior. This is my last warning.

Why don't you wait the full seven days before you get bent out of shape. Having Lenovo look it over before handing you back your money doesn't seem unreasonable. I don't know there's much anyone here can do for you. You're probably just going to have to wait it out. What else can you do? A couple weeks isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things.

ZaZ, if you dont agree with me you shouldn't comment. I'm not a lenovo-hater that you ought to say such things. Read my post again, perhaps I'm unclear. Its been 7 days since they've received the machine. Their quality check was supposed to be done in 24 hours, max 48 hours. That has been stretched to 7 days.

I am free to vent my anger the way I see fit lest I circumvent the censors on this board. I have not offended anybody and I dont see the reason why you ought to take everything personally and feel offended.

On this point you are wrong and will have to live with the consequences should you continue down this path. This forum is about the free exchange of information and ideas in a civilized and productive way. It's too bad your purchase of a notebook did work out as planned, but that does not give you license to use foul language or act childishly. I will, in the future, feel at liberty to comment where I feel poster has stepped outside the acceptable standards of behavior on this forum.

I think my original point still stands, there's probably not a lot anyone here can do to help you and you're probably just going to have to wait it out. If Lenovo falls behind schedule call them and be persistent. That's about all you can do.

If you are this particular about your notebooks, perhaps you should buy them somewhere with a more lenient return policies. Costco comes to mind. They offer a 90 day no questions asked return policy with no restocking fee. They'd give you your money back on the spot. Of course buying a notebook at Costco will cost more money.

well good news is that after a firm and heated discussion with Lenovo sales, they finally have put in the request to refund my money. Now I'm waiting for it to appear on my bank account.

ZaZ, I set my own standards.
