i don't know if it's because i recently updated my power manager or what but lately when i plug and unplug my x201 from the wall, the screen will turn black for a second and then back on. does anyone know why this is happening?

edit: i think i have narrowed the problem down to the display lowering the refresh rate to 50 whenever it was on battery and raises it to 60 when on ac. is there anyway to keep the refresh rate at 60?

you can change the display refresh rate setting in the Thinkvantage POWER MANAGER, there is option for you to maintain a certain refresh rate when you are on ac or battery power.

yeah that's what i thought too but all i see about refresh rate in the power manager is for idle. like to set what refresh rate it will be after a certain period of time. i don't see the setting for refresh rate for normal usage in both battery and ac power

also another weird thing that i am experiencing with the power manager is that sometimes randomly, the power manager will set my brightness for ac power to be the same as what i set for battery power. do you guys think reinstalling power manager might help?

oh yeah i am using windows 7 home premium and power manager 3.29

i just confirmed the brightness problem. if i start up the computer plugged in, the brightness will go down to my setting if i unplug it after turning it on.

if i turn the computer on with it unplugged, the brightess won't go up when i plug the ac adapter in. so the problem seems to only happen when starting the computer up using only the battery
