Just bought 14.1 R61 (6 cells batt) but didn't order any cases or backpacks from lenovo site.

Any brands / models recommend? Is the 14.1 case will fit the widescreen? Also, carrying case or backpack? Which one is safer to keep our thinkpad?

    Thanks, guys :)

I'm using a Targus backpack, but I like their carrying cases too.

I use a Swissgear Synergy backpack... it's well-padded, easy on the back and has a lot of storage. NBR review here

    I use it for a 15.4" T61P, though.

I just have a wet suit material type cover at the moment. However, I've ordered a 9 cell battery, so may have to look for something else when that gets here.

I just picked up the Timbuk2 Commute (07), Large. The Commute medium wouldn't close.

I have the 15" ws with the 6 cell battery.

The bag is a little big, but it's a great bag. I liked the 07 model because the laptop compartment is "behind" the bag's main compartment, whereas the Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger and Commute 08 has a laptop sleeve sewn into the back of the main compartment. when you put the laptop into the sleeve, it would fall forward into the main compartment (b/c the laptop is so heavy), making the interior look smaller than it really is.

btw, the laptop could fit in the laptop messenger medium.

I really like the look of the crumpler bags (embarrassments and the hee-goer/part and parcel/horseman, but unfortunately, my laptop would only fit in the dreadful embarrassment (largest one), and the horseman (again, largest)...basically the size for the 17" macbook pro. they were just too big (and didn't have a grab strap/handle at the top of the bag).

but my wife got the dreadful embarrassment for her 14" ws, b/c she wanted a larger bag to be both laptop/diaper bag. i really like the crumpler bags' look and feel.
