Personally I think the "forward" and "back" buttons here are a waste. (I'm referring to the R61.)

Why not Page Up and Page Down instead? Have somebody here tried to remap these keys to some other function?

On a related note, is it possible that the music control buttons be used meaningfully for foobar2000? The buttons only work when the app is in focus.

I really like those keys since I used them more than the Page Up and Down. They're useful for lazy people like who don't want to move there mouse to the top left to navigate pages.

Besides, there are already Page Up and Down keys at the top-right, right?

They are useless beacause Back and Shift Back do the same job safely. If you hit one of those two keys, you can lost a long answer in a forum.

Hm, do you mean Alt+back or forward arrow?

I didn't know that. Well in that case, these buttons are unnecessary.

when I had my N200, I had page up and down right there ... which was useless... I remapped them using autohotkey to home and end, that seems to be most useful for me when I am editing text because I can do shift home to select a line of text :p

Maybe I'll remap those back and forward to that again, given that it doesn't mess with my mouses back and forward buttons :p

I've always used alt+forward (or back) on all my old machines...but i absolutely love love these keys and use them all the time. Most notebooks don't even have something there so i don't see the point in complaining about them. Also the page up and page down keys are really easily located on the thinkpads...i can use them without even looking at the keyboard.

You can also remap the touchpad to have small zones in the corners for some commonly used functions.

There is a program made by Lenovo you can use to remap those keys or set them to only go off after holding it down for a certain amount of time which you can specify. You can also disable them altogether.

I'm not sure about the english name of the key. According to a picture of a T61p, it's the key : <-Backspace

Using a browser (IE or FF):
<-Backspace : previous page (same as lenovo key above <- )
SHIFT + <-Backspace : next page (same as lenovo key above ->)
