Can someone tell me the consequence of buying a Thinkpad with bios locked?

If there is a Supervisor Password that you don't know (I assume that that's the case), you get a nice black brick if you remove the coin cell battery or if it's empty.

It depends on what exactly was locked by Supervisor password, and that can be a plethora of different things.

My advice: stay away, very far away from machines with a locked BIOS unless they're cheap enough to warrant a planar swap.
