Function, widescreen, camera, mic, and level of quality have all been adopted by the T series now.

Z series been discontinued and no longer sold on the Lenovo site for a while now. BUt it's a great opportunity to get a good deal from other retailers who may still have it on stock. Got to watch out, huge, huge price range for the same specs.

I had to move on from my great T42. I just picked up my Z61M this week: 2Ghz C2D T7200, 160GB HD, 1GB Ram, ATI X1400, 15.4 inches /widescreen 1680x1050, 802.11a/g - Bluetooth 2.0, DVD±RW, XP with Vista upgrade cd, 3 year warranty - just under $800US on ebay... i think this was a good buy for the summer; where as some retailers currently had this same laptop priced between $1200 to 2500US.

I'll be waiting for the T6X drop a little in price and all the bugs worked out before i upgrade again = )

I have been VERY happy with my Z61t, which I got almost a year ago.

I as browsing Lenovo.com today, and it looks like you can get a T60 or T61 with nearly identical specs, including widescreen WXGA+ LCD. So it looks like this form factor is living on under the T badge.

I must have been one of the last people to get a Z61t off Lenovo's site, and I'm rather pleased with it. It's well-supported by Linux (even suspend-to-RAM works!), and it has more gadgets than I could realistically use.

I've read a few too many horror stories about the T61 series, so I don't regret not waiting.

I really liked the Z61t but I ended up getting a T60 in the end since Z series did not support Intel VT at the time. Of course, right after I got my T60, a BIOS update came out for Z61t that supports VT. I paid nearly $400 more for my T60 that has identical specs (minus camera, etc.) to the Z61t I was looking at.
