Is the ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi Wireless II any better than Intel's (like 2200 BG or 2915 ABG) or not? What is the difference between them?

Lenovo offers both cards. Sometimes it's hard to determine which one a particular model is configured with. Anyways, the first card you mentioned is an Atheros card. The Atheros is generally accepted as a better card than the Intel solution. Many, including myself, have suffered from unstable and erratic performance from the Intel solutions. Personally, I've had alot of problems interfacing with a Cisco network (work) with the Intel cards. The Atheros client software plays better with my work network. You may notice alot of posts from people saying that they have slow and/or erratic connections with the Intel solutions. This is a well known issue.

Thanks a lot. I had been afraid that the Thinkpad's was not as good as Intel's. Now I see.
