I have a T500 and have noticed a preboot folder on my external drive. It has an old version of opera browser and other things I don't recall having used. Google search indicates that this may be a folder created by the Thinkpad.
Can someone confirm this and explain the meaning of this folder. Can it be safely deleted?

Can I assume that the lack of responses is indicating that no other Thinkpad users have this folder, or know what it is for?
-
Is this from the Windows installation that came with the computer, or have you re-installed Windows since you got it?

I have not re-installed Windows. I think I created the restore discs, and may have a done a backup. It looks like the date of the folder is from around that time, and when I searched google the results were in the context of the backup and restore application. But I could not find a definite answer if this is a lenovo folder, what its for, and if it can be deleted.
It is very confusing that the folder includes opera browser which I so far have only used on my cellphone, but never on the notebook.
what is the preboot folder for?
