    Just curious what other laptops were considered by folks who ended up buying a T400 or T400s.

    I've been impressed by a few out there (Dell XPS, Fujitsu etc.) but ended up going with a T400 simply because I can get the EPP price that made it the best bang for the buck. I am not terribly impressed with the T400, but I'm curious what else people think is comparable in terms of price/build/options/size?

    Dell E6400 is probably your best value oriented competition when you grab them from the outlet with sales.

    ThinkPad T60/T61/R61 (which I actually bought too) as well as Latitude D620/630/E4400/E6400, but I got a nice deal on my T400 so I am pretty satisfied.
