I am looking at getting a new laptop and am struggling on which processor to get. The laptop will be for school/home use. I know thats pretty vague, but I am just lost with all the numbers and such. And don't want to order and it and then regret not getting a better one. Thanks for any help/suggestions, greatly appreciated!

    I'd say look for the T7300, T7500 or T8100, T9300.

Whatever fits in your price range I guess.

Definitely get the newer Penryn, i.e. T8100, T9300, or T9500. They are the same price as the older design so no reason not to choose the newer version.

T8100(2.1ghz) and T8300(2.4ghz) are ones with 3MB cache but should be cooler, while T9300( 2.5ghz) and T9500(2.6ghz) have 6MB cache. T9500 in my opinion is useless. I got T9300 but T8100 or T8300 should work as well.
