Um, frankly if you have to ask this question...then you shouldn't be buying anything online.

I wouldn't buy from eBay at all. No protection whatsoever, as eBay and PayPal's policies are worthless.

If you think eBay is a Lenovo reseller I cannot believe that you ever used eBay. eBay is a place that ANYONE can sell ANYTHING. It's an online auction house.

If you get it cheaper from ebay(live cashback) with a seller with 99% + positive feedback, only then consider ebay. Lenovo direct will be safer choice though.

I would call the ebay store selling them and grill them with questions before i purchased from them. They may be authorized reseller, but for that kind of purchase cover your rear. Ask about warranty, return policy etc.
I have purchased over 80 items on ebay and got shafted once. I only buy from reputable ebay stores tho. They must have a high feedback score, and i read the feedback before i buy. I also make sure they have a working phone number and i make sure i can pay with credit card. My experience with pay pal has been awful.

I got my T61 from eBay. Reason is the seller ships outside US, but I wouldn't consider buying from eBay if I were living in the US.
