whats your X61 estimate ship date?

I ordered X61s on june 7th and the estimate ship date is still 26th.
i sure hope they wont delay the shipping date.
I am curious and want to know is there any X61s order actually shipped.
because 30th is the last date for tailormade...

update* shipped july 27th & will receive $100 because of the delay

 

My shipping date was 22nd of June and now it moved to 24th of July !! I just cancelled and bought this used HP off a friend for half the price. I'll just wait for the x61s to hit Kuwait.

A friend was looking at the X61, but decided to get the previous X60 instead.

Any big difference between both models besides the new chipset?

it is very interesting that they notice people shipment will be delay after the expect shipping date.

You might want to see if you can back out of the deal w/your friend. FYI, "cancelled" means "ship NOW" in Lenovo.

 

I've ordered it on 6/7 , esd 6/26. I'm getting prepared to see it delayed and a following cancellation.

good news. There are people who ordered X61s 6/02/07 and ESD 6/21/07 is going to ship out tomorrow. Also, someone talked to rep and claimed they put the date delay to 30 days to assume the worst case. They might actually shipped the notebook already.

just got off the phone with CSR and found out my order is too being delayed until the 7/10/07 because of LCD shortages

 

LCD shortage? wouldn't it affect the delivery of all thinkpads?

 

sorry, he said there was a shortage of 12.1" LCD displays, apparently they source from only one supplier. they're excepting a shipment of 12.1" LCDs the first week of july, with orders being completed and sent out the following week.

 

oh... so shouldn't expect any chance it will come early then...

One possible upside of a delayed X61 shipment is the possibility of a cheaper price for the 4th of July sale...

Mine got pushed back to 7/16 as well. It would have been nice of Lenovo to inform me of this before the day after it was supposed to ship

 

i just called the sales rep, and she told me that my laptop would ship out in 5 to 6 days. 7/16/07 is like the most delayed time.

 

I'm still at 6/28 as my ship date. Looking forward to my "delayed" email

 

the estimated ship date was today. i checked my order status and it says 7/30 WTF??????? i ordered on 6/8

update: called customer service (8 min wait)
they told me the message on the order status is erroneous and it will ship sometimes next week

 

Don't worry, the delayed est ship day is like the most delay time. You probably will get your computer a lot sooner than that date.

In my case the 2nd est ship day was JUL 10, and it just shipped today.

 

Mine just went from 7/25 to 7/16.
I need it by 7/9 the latest.

I've read every single message in the Lenovo T61 blog, and I'm starting to get nervous... Even if they ship on time, 5 weeks is way too long to wait for a notebook...

 

my x61s ordered on 06/05, and now its esd is 07/25

 

that sucks. i ordered 06/07 and is 07/16/07.

 

Changed. Ordered 6/11. Now changed to ship date of 7/16

 

I think Isagg is the lucky one... Ordered June 2nd, and shipped June 27th... Only three-weeks-and-three-days.... That's what I'm hoping for. I'm one-and-a-half weeks into it...

Also, I've noticed that the early June orders (swliu, orangelounge, melo83, null84, monkhi, moneyqc) got ESDs that are 3 weeks minus 2 business days after the order date... Mid/late-June orders (like me) got ESDs that are 5 weeks minus 2 business days...

My theory is, after the T61 fiasco, they revised all of the new ESDs to be more realistic by adding two weeks...

But learning from Isagg's order, you should all expect the ship day to be three weeks + 3 days... Too bad that's only one data point,... But hopefully, people will start to respond here when their orders shipped so we can come up with a more accurate estimate ourselves. Lenovo's ordering system and ESD generator sucks...

So, for example, Swliu, your order date is June 5th.. so the actual ship date should be very close to June 29th... And melo83 is June 8th, so the actual ship date should be close to July 4th...

Mine will be July 11th....
