I have been waiting for this since it is announced on Feb. It said March. But we are already in the mid of March.
-
Initially it was looking like March 30th or 31st from the leaked roadmap, but recently I've heard as early as early to mid next week.
-
Will the Japanese earthquake affect the date?
-
thinkpads are made in china, but i guess if there are supply problems with parts there could definitely be a slowdown in delivery.
-
Also, still no review of T420(s)?
-
I don't think Lenovo is going to run out any Made In Japan parts, other than optical drive and possibly battery. But most of these parts are also produced by factories outside of Japan.
But i will be worried for the camera enthusiasts, as the some factory producing high end CMOS for DSLR are wiped out. -
In the youtube video, the guy said t420s comes with a 80gb flash memory. is that SSD? can we also put a HDD in addition to that?
-
Yes. 80GB for the OS and apps, extra HD for additional storage. Best of both worlds.
-
just an fyi- I came across listings for a bunch of T420s models randomly today- though there doesn't seem to be any actual stock yet, apparently you can call for an ETA
Lenovo Manufacturer Store - Search Results at Digital Spyders -
there are some other sites that are doing just that. None in stock but have listings. Hopefully it means the new T and edge series are coming out very soon.
-
since t420 and t520 are available now, i guess t420s won't be too far.
-
They've been available for a few days:
Lenovo - Laptops - ThinkPad - T Series - T420s
This guy posted a super-detailed technical dump of the Lenovo T420s with lots of benchmarks, but it's not a review really. -
when T420s will be available for purchase?
