My search for the 'perfect' notebook keeps coming back to the T60, so I think I should talk to some vendors. Is Lenovo the best place to go, or would online stores like Powernotebooks.com or discountlaptops.com be better? Whadaya think? :D thanks!

Check www.resellerratings.com before you use any third-party.

That said, I ordered from www.universitycomputers.com and got a great deal through BU (which I don't even attend)

If you have a friend with EPP pricing, that's one way to go, otherwise if you have an educational discount that might work too.

I think people use euclid computing also.

Are you buying in the States?

I have heard that you can get additional savings using certain credit cards, like Visa or American Express. As to how exactly that is done, I do not know T.T..

In the States-- Calif. Don't know what EPP pricing is (?)

I would feel better ordering through a rep rather than online just so I'm sure of what I'm getting, although even then you can't be sure (what screen am i really getting...?) Alot of forum users refer to their "great experience" with a "great salesman". That would be worth more than saving a few buck$, I think.

acaurora-- how did you manage to get the "good" screen and keyboard for your T60 ws? Luck? or could you specify when ordering???

It was luck. I believe though that the chances of getting the "good" screen/keyboard are rather high. I do believe several people here have been able to get the NMB keyboard by request if they did not get it the first time, simply saying that they were unsatisfied with the keyboard that came with theirs.
