what's the difference between 4-cell and 4-cell slimline?

on Lenovo's website, they claim that 4-cell will extrude?

slimline sits flush against the back, normal 4 cell extrudes out. the normal 4 cell will have better battery life than the slimline.

the normal 4 cell will extrude from where? back or bottom?

my understanding is the normal 4-cell has that curve (two cylinders) at the bottom, while the slimline doesn't. it's flat at the bottom.

Notice that one end of the normal 4 cell has a plastic part that can be taken off while used on x60 (not x60s).

this is why x60s is only thinner than the x60 when using slimline battery

I recently was looking on eBay for a 4-cell slimline battery for my X60s.

At the same time I had a battery for my Z60t stop charging and delivered a "irreparable damage" message in the message centre. I phoned Lenovo that night at 8PM, got a live operator, and had a new battery delivered to me the next morning at 10AM. Amazing.

That experience made me realise - I do not want a battery from eBay. First off, it could possbily be a recalled battery. Second, it has no warranty and batteries are consumable items.

I ended up buying a slimline + extra AC adapter combo direct from Lenovo for $94 CDN shipped through visaperks. I think this is a great deal compared to their normal retail price.

How did you get that price?

The 4-cell slimline is selling for 130$ online....

Through visaperks ( www.visaperks.ca). It is a Canadian site. I'm not sure if there is an American analogue. Does anyone know?

stay away from generic batteries. OEM lenovo batteries are already pretty well priced.
