    It's a dummy piece of plastic used to occupy the ultrabay as a weight saver. I don't think it really serves this purpose well anymore because the drives are so light.

    I think the Ultrabay battery would make the most sense here.

    Because he doesn't use the drive. Otherwise why would he want a weight saver?

    He will use the battery if he puts one in there, though. And these batteries are quite light.

    They sell them at Compu-Lock for $20 (ouch) here.

    Its a shame they discontinued them, its a good idea.
