    What are the screen and graphic options??

    The two models are quite similar, but I would lean towards the T400 due to its superior battery life (especially with an LED screen).

    as ZaZ an Jon stated, the most important thing is why will you be using the laptop for?

    And the T400 will give you better battery life with the LED screen.

    If battery were critical I'd get the t400. I thought that went without saying.

    I suppose both are widescreen? T400 will be faster and have a new CPU 45nm and the T61 is not sure to have a 65nm or a 45nm less heat.

    I would go with the T400 if it has a LED backlit screen. Where did you find a T-400 with those spec's for $600?

    Frankly I don't think there is a brand new T400 at that price, so you should be careful of fraudulent trading probability.
