    hi,

    which one would you keep?

    700$ X60s - L2400/512MB/40GB/GMA950/warranty till 2010. Mar.

or the R61 on sale right now 500$ - T5470/512MB/60GB/X3100/DVD/WXGA+/4cell

BTW, I have 2GB RAM and 120GB HD that can be used in either one.

    This deal is so tempted.

Are you positive that 120GB HD can be used in the X60s? I had thought it used a smaller hard drive or something (like a 1.8" drive).

Either way; I don't know, what do you need more? I would think the X60s would be a lot more portable, and probably get longer battery life as well.

The x60s is a much better deal, but yeah it boils down what you need. I'd get the x60s for $700.

I have the drive in the X60s now. X60s uses 2.5 HD :)

I like the X60s more, but the resolution is kind low (1024X768). No other complain.

I had a chance to compare the X60s and T61. The T61 is much bigger and heavier.

However, this 470$ R61 sale is to good to pass...

and even bigger and heavier than the t.

If you're keeping the x, go for it. No way in hell would I trade an x for an r.

    I really like my X60s.

The low resolution is one thing I don't enjoy very much. The other is there's always a mark of trackpoint and mouse button on the screen if I don't put something in between the LCD and keyboard when I close the laptop.

I also have a desktop with 22" LCD.

It doesn't make any sense to sell my X60s and get this R61, does it?

    Vote for X60s!
R series is just too big and heavy for my taste.

While the R61 is newer, and theoretically would be faster, the X60s is much smaller and lighter. While other people have mentioned, the 1024x768 resolution is somewhat of a letdown, but it depends upon how you plan on using your laptop and what you are comfortable with. After having my T60 for 6 months, I kinda wish I had gone with the X60 Tablet... which offers a higher resolution (1400x1050). My friend has an X60 and he loves it though - can get amazing battery life out of the extended battery, I think somewhere around 6-8 hours!!!

If i only had one computer, i would not want it to be the X. (I have one)

For that $700, you can get a much better spec'd 14" T61 from lenovo, if you stack the discounts when the best ones are offered.

I own the X60s which I paid 700$ for. I am just debating if I should sell it and get the R61. I have a desktop at home though, and one in the lab.

    make sense!

I am actually saving up for the next gen of MacBook/MacBook Pro. I hope they make smaller MBP, which resolution higher than the X series.
