    Hi All!

I'm having a serious display problem on my screen. it started to fade into some lines and turned completely white/blank while i was surfing online. it happened once before while i left the music on. This seems to be just so randomly. ive taken off the batteries and tried to switch off and on but i couldnt get the screen back to normal, at least not until the window turn-off shows up (takes about 20 mins). now its working again after reboot. The pc itself is still running without a problem.

i have not dropped it or any of this sort.

its a 2 months new laptop!!!bought in june!!i have no idea what's gone wrong. it could go blank again anytime!

    Helpppp

Return it. If its already happened once , that would more than enough for most to return it.

2 - 3 days to ship it to them. A couple days for them to do something, 2 - 3 days to return it.
I'm just guessing. 7-14 days total?

I read this other report about a keyboard problem on an HP dv8000, where after a tech support call, they agreed that it must be defective and send it over. He did, and it got sent back with a note stating "no problem found". The problem was not addressed.

You run the risk of the same thing happening. You should ask if tech support creates a file, a record, stating the entire history of you and the hardware. That way, when the laptop arrives, they'd be able to read the report. Otherwise some anonymous guy starts all over, they start the laptop, click here and there, everything works, and they send it right back without fixing anything...

If you have pstools (you can get it free from microsoft) and remote access to your pc you can use psshutdown -d \\yourcomputer
and it will force it to suspend

When it comes out of suspend, the white screen issue will be resolved for the time being.
