    why is my T40 so SLOW????

    hey all....so i just installed a new copy of the windows xp pro sp2 to my Thinkpad T40. i have a 40gb hdd and 768mb of Ram. the rest are all basic settings of T40 2373.

    the computer itself seems to be running pretty fast but when im scrolling the pages on anything like MS word, Firerfox, music file etc... it is not smooth at all. it looks like the computer is about to freeze. i had no idea what the problem was then i saw the 5 user on my Documents and settings. Apparently, i wasnt using the Administrator but some secondary user called "user.USER-430F94CEBD" (i named my pc "user").

    so is there a away i can use the admin and delete all other users? its my personal laptop and no one uses it.

    well my friend just gave me a copy disk. not sure where he got it from.

    thing is...i used this same disk to istall my desktop which turned out fine.

    EdIT: i actually deleted the stuff and ended up w/ the Allusers.WINDW and my main. delete admin, LKJDJ and KJLKJFLELKd etc. ya.

    i just reinstalled the xp again. it had it again but i deleted. the scrolling is still slow. maybe its b/c im using a ddr333 ram stick intead of ddr266? still works.

    Sounds like the video driver is bad or not installed.
