It just arrived a few days ago, my room temperture is around 75-78 F.
When I first time turn on it, the fan was already running so noise.
Well , I understand because it's in heavy duty.

But after that, the fan was be slient about 30 seconds , then it runs like an air craft engine for 2 mins. Which is very annoying. (I previously owned x61s)

So I used TPfancontrol and take a look what happened

I figured out the CPU is always above 50 C, and the fan is not running until the temp reach 53 C, but it will be running at 5500+RPM. That's why it runs so loud!

    So I use manually mode,
    The result is
    level 1 : 1800 RPM
    level 2: 2300 RPM
    level 3: 5600 RPM
level 4: same as level 3
level 5: same as level 4
    level 6: 6400+

So this x300 is very disappointing for me right now.

Anyone can give me suggestion, is this issue semms like common's issue or???

Anyone have experience to return or exchange from lenovo before???

I think it might be a quite common problem in X300
I saw more than 2 guys complained about their X300 fan issue in Chinese forums
That's the main reason why I havent buy it til now
So did the Tpfancontrol solved this problem?

If it doesn't sound like its grinding anything that it should be normal. Mine to me isn't noisy. I have a Dell M2400 that's twice as loud. The ultra portables are pretty cramped in there so they have to keep them cool. You can check the Dell forum here and you will see people asking the same Q. These new PC's just seem to run hotter than the older ones for whatever reason.
