I purchased the 9 cell battery last december from lenovo. Li-on battery. I have the battery charge if its below 21 and stop at 75% . I noticed tonight when it reached 75% the meter jump to 100% literally. This happened twice since I own the battery. I didnt pay attention the first time because I didn't see it jump. What is causing this? Is my battery bad? Thanks

which model of the 9 cell you are using? i.e. for T61.

also look at the design charge and actual charge state at Thinkvantage Power Manager under battery section.
