No, they don't include a drivers/applications disc. All the updated drivers and applications are online at the Lenovo website.

All the software for you machine which, would include all the drivers and applications installed on your machine, is located in the SWTools folder on the C:\ drive. I would higly recommend backing it up and making the recovery discs before you do anything.

All the drivers are on the website. I know that all the Multimedia offerings are there also.

Copy the C:\SWTOOLS (I believe) directory off your PC before you wipe and load it. There are some things in there that aren't on the web site, but for the most part you can re-download everything.

Usually, some drivers in the SWTOOLS are out dated. The ones on the website are all updated.

Although most of the things inthe SWTOOLS folder are outdated, I would still highly reccommend starting your "clean install" using these drivers to avoid headaches later on with little things.......such as getting your OSD to work...or getting your bluetooth light to turn on.

Install the older drivers first, then run system update.

Btw, the only DVD that was included with my thinkpad was a vista anytime upgrade disc.

How can I do "Clean Install" using the driver on recovery disk, if I'm going to install using vista dvd?

It's not the driver on the recovery disc. Before you perform the clean install and wipe out your HDD,

Backup this folder and the files contained: C:\SWTOOLS
(place them on a USB drive or a separate disc)

Thanks guys for help... I'm alittle confused.... is there any way to add drivers to the vista installation? Because I don't see the reason of backing up C:\SWTOOLS if all the drivers and softwares are available online, unless I could add drivers to the vista installation... if that option is not available, i will back it up in case, but i will most likely just go to lenovo site after installation, and download the most updated drivers and softwares...

Well it is always better to have a backup copy of what your laptop originally came with. But you are correct, you can just get all the same drivers off the website.

...There are some things in there that aren't on the web site...

Definitely use the drivers off the web site, but there are backgrounds and some other things in SWTools that you may want later. Your choice.
