I wouldn't think so because it's a "special program" that requires that you make an account. Doesn't hurt to try, but you'll probably have to be extra persistent to get them to honor it. Being polite but persistent takes you a long way.

I don't really know who the B&N Gold site is actually intended for (faculty and students of WHAT?) but Lenovo sure doesn't mind anyone and everyone using it.

I'd be firm and polite. If they refuse, cancel on the spot and re-order with the B&N link (or take your dollar somewhere else).

I can't imagine why they wouldn't do some sort of adjustment. That B&N thing is basically the retail price since everyone uses it.

My X230 was showing that same status and I called to cancel. Told the person I didn't want it and I didn't have possession of it yet so they need to cancel it. She said they couldn't, but she noted my account that I could return w/o a restocking fee. It shipped the next day. I returned it today, so we'll see if they charge me a fee. I am keeping my Zenbook Prime (but that's another discussion altogether).

Basically, confirm and confirm that they placed a note on your account that you tried to cancel prior to shipping and you can return with no re-stocking fee. When you get it, call Lenovo and they will send you a return label (free).

they probably won't charge you. Now I'm just caught in an odd pickle. Should I try to wait until monday (estimated shipping date) to call or should I just try to do a chat with them? I'm such an idiot, I should have known about the barnes and noble gold. I instead used the student discount.

I mean, do what you want. Don't listen to random internet advice. If the cost differential is worth it to you, I'd go for it. But it's a hassle for sure. If it was $50, I'd probably pass. If it was $300, I'd do it. Depends on how much your time is worth to you.

Well, I think I have good news. Since search this site with google, I found two instances where this situation occured. One was denied because he went through amazon to pay it. The other was successful. Thanks for the advice. You think I would have a better chance at chat or calling? Or would they just be the same?

I cancelled. The guy told me that I will get 100% of my money back. 0% restocking fee and prepaid shipping.
