I don't know if my laptop's sound card is powerful enough for Sennheiser ME-3 microphone, so will I be needing USB sound card pod as suggested by this website?

btw, what sound card do does my x200t have anyway?

the question should be whether the soundcard and mic-in port is sensitive enough to pick up all the signals from the mic, the answer is no they are not.

But this may or not be a big deal, it really depends on what you are recording your voice for. But given that you are using this brand of mic, i would at least use a high quality external soundcard.

the soundcard used on the x200t should be soundmax.

I am using this microphone for Dragon NaturallySpeaking (voice recognition), the site suggested that I should use Andrea or VXI sound card pod.

From what you're saying, using an external sound card pod would definitely be better than the thinkpad sound card?

for naturally speaking, the integrated sound card should be fine. If you were to do a Pavarotti then you should look for a better quality external sound card.
