hi all, im very, very close to buying the z61m, however, i would like to use the laptop in the car as a gps unit, rarely, maybe a few times a year. Is the matte screen readable in an automobile. I think all lenovo laptops have same screen except flexview. I realize the glossy screens are more perfect for this situation but i would like to hear about matte. thanks...

I would think Matte finish would be better than glossy in the car. the reflections would be terrible in the car using a gps on a glossy screen

The new Lenovo laptops, N, C & V have glossy screens. All the Thinkpads have matte. I use my T42p at least once a week in the car. As long as the screen is angled correctly, I have no problem reading it. Regardless of screen, if there's glare on it, you won't be able to read it.
