I've installed windows 8 and the respective drivers. I feel the performance is sluggish and horrible experience. The trackpad is stiff to navigate with, wifi suddenly doesn't work and I have to disable/enable device or restart pc, ofcoure power management sucks, etc.

When are the official and complete drivers will be out? Windows 8 is terribly alienated from windows 7, what's the fuss?

Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. I upgraded yesterday and went through the easy upgrade install option (the one that saves your apps and data and whatever else--not the clean install) from W7 Pro. Other than a little difficulty getting the Lenovo virtual scroll uninstalled, the upgrade went pretty painlessly.

Other than ThinkVantage no longer working, everything else seems to work fine. Even my Power Manager battery settings were retained. All in all, it's been a fairly pleasant experience, given the bit of learning curve with W8. But my ThinkPad is definitely no slower. It may be a little faster, but I've got nothing outside of my fading memory to base that on.

Hope yours gets straightened out soon.
