so recently every time I shut off, windows downloads update, so I went to check the update history and

I get this "lenovo -Other hardware - thinkpad PM device" and the status is "failed" for the 20 or so times.

I am currently using Power Manager 3.20, I thought this is the most up to date one.

can somebody tell me what's going on. thanks

it's the interface for Windows and other software (such as Power Manager) to access low-level settings (BIOS level) of managing power.

this is your power management circuitry in your laptop. The thing that controls the charging and discharging, etc.
