i hate useless system tray icons, like the one from the intel wireless card. theres got to be a way to get rid of it. im not talkin about the wireless connection icon with the computer symbol, but the one thats a box with the three bars. anybody know how to remove the icon from the system tray???

Perhaps right clicking on it and selecting "remove this icon" will do the trick.

if i right click on it, i get no window that pops up. if i left click, i get "turn wireless radio off", "enable automatic radio control", "power save mode", and "show status window".

Hmm... I have Intel wireless too, but I don't think we're talking about the same icon. I have two icons from ThinkVantage Access Connections. One looks like a network pipe with a screen at the top, and the other looks like a series of steps and only refers to wireless connections.
wireless card system tray icon removal!
